This weekend a good friend of mine got married. Of course when she shared the exciting news two weeks ago I said I’d love to the cake. Yes, you read that right. TWO WEEKS AGO. It’s not what it seems like. No rushing here into a life long commitment. They decided to take the plunge after twelve years together and two adorable boys later. It was the date chosen which caught most by surprise.
The bride knew she didn’t want traditional. She also knew she wanted something comfortable. Relaxed. Casual. Instead of a multi-tiered white mountain, Delish made five different cakes. This allowed the choice of the groom’s favorite flavor (the chocolate truffle) as well as the bride’s. Her favorite cake from Delish is the lemon cake filled with lemon curd and topped with whipped cream frosting, which made for the perfect bride’s cake.
Even though the lemon cake has been featured on the blog before, I’m brining it back to show the bridal decor. What’s more bridal than sparkle and pearls? While it still has the casual feel of comfort, it dressed up slightly for the occasion.
What do you think? Could you imagine this being your bridal cake?
